The prerequisite for collecting signatures is the existence of an appropriate safety policy. The Federal Chancellery has drawn up a leaflet about this for the cantons and local councils. Furthermore, it has also drawn up a standard safety policy for the committees and organisers of petitions, together with the FOPH [Federal Office of Public Health] and SECO [State Secretariat for Economic Affairs]. This standard safety policy and the associated leaflet for committees is available at https://www.bk.admin.ch/bk/de/home/politische-rechte/volksinitiativen.html and is also attached to this press release. Each individual committee or organiser of a petition is responsible for implementing the safety policies. The individual safety policies will not be validated either by the Federal Government or by the cantons.
