Coronavirus daily bulletin: 505 confirmed cases in the Canton of Basel-Stadt

As of 10.30 on Thursday, 26 March 2020, the Department of Health Basel-Stadt announced a total of 505 positive cases among people living in the Canton of Basel-Stadt, as well as a further four deaths.
As of 10.30 on Thursday, 26 March 2020, there are a total of 505 positive cases among people living in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. That is 39 more than on the previous day. Of the 505 people who tested positive, 155 have recovered.
Yesterday, Wednesday, another four people died. The three men and one woman who died were all in the at-risk group: They were aged between 71 and 93 and had pre-existing conditions. This brings the number of deaths in the Canton of Basel-Stadt to twelve.
In addition to testing residents of the canton, suspected cases from other Swiss cantons and other countries close to the border are also being tested in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Around 831 people have tested positive so far (including the 505 Basel cases).
A total of 74 persons are currently being treated in a Basel-Stadt hospital because of a Covid-19 infection. 54 of these people are residents of the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Eight people in total require intensive care. The other patients are in the normal ward.
