Allocation of vaccination appointments through the website www.coronaimpfzentrumbasel.ch and the infoline 0800 555 655 has got off to a very good start in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. The appointments for all three days are booked up. Around 1,900 people will be vaccinated in the Basel-Stadt vaccination centre on the three days 28, 29 and 30 December 2020.
The first quota made available was booked up within 30 minutes. Due to the high demand, the Canton of Basel-Stadt made more vaccination doses available. They were also allocated after a short time. A total of around 1,900 people will be vaccinated in the cantonal vaccination centre from Monday to Wednesday, 28 to 30 December 2020. People who are eligible for the vaccine can receive it until 19.30 hours on the first day of vaccinations, 28 December 2020. The vaccination centre will be available until 15.30 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday 29 and 30 December 2020.
Head of the Department of Health Lukas Engelberger: “I would like to thank people for their great interest and willingness to receive the vaccine. I am very happy about the high level of interest. Vaccination is our opportunity to gradually leave coronavirus behind us.”
The infoline of the vaccination centre has occasionally been overstretched by the high volume of calls. The Department of Health and Meconex ask people who are interested in receiving the vaccination to be patient.
Information about additional vaccination appointments from 4 January 2021 will be announced at a later date.
A tour of the vaccination centre for media professionals is organised for 28 December. An invitation for media professionals with further information will be sent by Wednesday, 23 December 2020 at the latest.
