Coronavirus daily bulletin: 974 confirmed cases in the Canton of Basel-Stadt

As of 08:30 on Monday, 18 May 2020, the Department of Health Basel-Stadt announced 974 positive cases among people living in the Canton of Basel-Stadt.

As of 08:30 on Monday, 18 May 2020, there are 974 positive cases among people living in the Canton of Basel-Stadt (Sat 16 May: 974; Sun 17 May: 974). That is two more cases than announced with the last daily bulletin on Friday, 15 May 2020. Of the 974 positive cases, 904 people, therefore more than 90 percent have recovered (Sat 16 May: 904; Sun 17 May: 904). The number of deaths in the Canton of Basel-Stadt remains unchanged at 50.

In addition to testing residents of the canton, suspected cases from other Swiss cantons and other countries close to the border are also being tested in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. 1479 people have tested positive so far (including the 974 Basel cases).

Figures on hospitalisations will be available tomorrow, Tuesday, again.
