Coronavirus daily bulletin: 929 confirmed cases in the Canton of Basel-Stadt

As of 09:45 on Saturday, 18 April 2020, the Department of Health Basel-Stadt announced a total of 929 positive cases among people living in the Canton of Basel-Stadt, as well as three further deaths.

As of 09:45 on Saturday, 18 April 2020, there are a total of 929 positive cases among people living in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. That is six more than on the previous day. Of the 929 positive cases, 753 people, therefore slightly more than 80 percent of it, have recovered.

Another three persons have died because of a Covid-19 infection in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Deceased are a 79-year-old man and two women of 77 and 78 years of age. All persons had pre-existing conditions. This now brings the total number of deaths in the Canton of Basel-Stadt to 40.

In addition to testing residents of the canton, suspected cases from other Swiss cantons and other countries close to the border are also being tested in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. 1435 people have tested positive so far (including the 929 Basel cases).

Figures on the hospitalisation will be available as of next Tuesday again. We ask for your understanding.
