Coronavirus daily bulletin: 813 confirmed cases in the Canton of Basel-Stadt

As of 09:30 on Tuesday, 07 April 2020, the Department of Health Basel-Stadt announced a total of 813 positive cases among people living in the Canton of Basel-Stadt, as well as two further deaths.

As of 09:30 on Tuesday, 07 April 2020, there are a total of 813 positive cases among people living in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. That is 10 more than on the previous day. Of the 813 positive cases, 508 people, therefore over 60 percent of it, have recovered.

Another two persons have died because of a Covid-19 infection in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Again, the two women were both in the at-risk group (aged over 65 and with a pre-existing condition). They were 81 and 84 years old. This now brings the total number of deaths in the Canton of Basel-Stadt to 28.

In addition to testing residents of the canton, suspected cases from other Swiss cantons and other countries close to the border are also being tested in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Around 1255 people have tested positive so far (including the 813 Basel cases).

83 residents of the Canton of Basel-Stadt are currently being treated in a Basel-Stadt hospital because of a Covid-19 infection. A total of 101 persons are in hospital. 13 people in total require intensive care. The other patients are in the normal ward.
