Coronavirus bulletin: Current case numbers in Basel-Stadt

As of Tuesday, 25 May 2021, 11.00, the Department of Health Basel-Stadt had recorded a total of 12,733 positive cases among people living in the Canton of Basel-Stadt since the start of the pandemic, 192 active cases in isolation and 303 people in quarantine. The 7-day notification rate per 100,000 residents is 55 (CH: 74), the 14-day notification rate is 135 (CH: 174). Over 107,700 vaccinations have so far been administered in Basel-Stadt. More than 36,500 people have been fully vaccinated with the first and second vaccination.
Occurrence of infection in the Canton of Basel-Stadt: Of the 192 active cases, seven residents of the Canton of Basel-Stadt are in hospital. In addition, a further seven people from outside the canton or abroad are being treated in hospital in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Of the total of 14 people in hospital, four require intensive care.
The total of 12,733 cases of infection in the Canton of Basel-Stadt since the start of the pandemic consists of 12,388 recoveries, 203 deaths and 192 active cases. There have been 62 new cases of infection since the last bulletin on Wednesday, 21 April 2021. An 83-year-old man has died in a nursing home. He was suffering from several conditions, including Covid-19.
Status of vaccinations
Over 9,500 vaccinations have been administered since the last bulletin of Friday, 21 May 2021. In addition, around 50,400 people currently have an appointment in the vaccination centre. The total number of people on the waiting list is currently 36,400.
As of yesterday, Monday 24 May 2021, a total of 107,718 vaccinations had been administered in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. 36,589 people have been fully vaccinated with the first and second vaccination.
